Pet's Story or Bio
This is my sweet Silky! She is a survivor of Hurricane Katrina. She was about 2 years old at the time. She is 12 years old now! She will be 13 in May. I did have 3 other cats at the time . But we were forced to live in a Fema trailer. Which from the high formaldahyde the other mom & daughter cats had breast cancer & the father cat chewed loose strands of fema carpet . So they did not make it. So Silky was the only survivor. She was not related to the other cats. Silky was a rescue cat! I went to Pet Smart in Slidell , Louisiana. She resembled my cat I had in Ore. Silky was from the animal League shelter in Sidell. I knew I had to have her. She was real smooth. She turned around twice & laid on my lap . Like saying come on mom take me home. My heart melted. Silky really picked me. I filled out the adoption papers . Pet Smart said this was the first time ever a cat was adopted the same day the shelter brought her over. So Silky in my book is a very special cat. Part Siamese / Rag doll. Who ever named her Silky did a good job. Cause her fur is just like Silk. When I got home I called the shelter to see what her story was. They said animal control picked her up. How pretty she was even back then she must have gotten out on her owners . Cause I would think no one would have let her out to roam the streets. She is so lovable.Being 12 years old she now has Kidney issues & pancreas issues. But so far doing well! Takes her kidney medicine like a good girl.
