Pet's Story or Bio
Bear was a foster kitten that we could not part with....and we tried!
He arrived with his 2 litter mates, full of fleas, and scared of his own shadow. All three were super sweet and playful kittens, but there was something about Bear, that reminded me of my first two pet cats who passed on. Bear looked like one, while having the purr-sonality similar to the other.
We dropped Bear and his brothers off to be neutered, and to be put up for adoption. A week went by, Bear when up for adoption at the Louisiana SPCA, and I couldn't stop feeling like something was missing from our home.
It was a "clear the shelter" special, and all the kittens that have come in, or have been fostered, where available for only a $10 adoption fee. I couldn't imagine Bear in another home, so I took off work early, and swung by the SPCA to see if he might still be available for me to adopt. As fate would have it, he was still there!
I filled out the adoption papers, paid the adoption fee, and the SPCA gave him to me in a cardboard carrier. As soon as I opened that carrier, he popped his head up purring, and put his paws around my neck, almost to hug me and say "thank you."
He's the biggest cat in the house hold now a days! And everyone's little affectionate, and playful bud.
I am so grateful for shelter's like the SPCA, to provide programs such as fostering, to save the lives of kittens like Bear!
