Both Gypsie (German Shepherd) and Dani (Dachshund) are rescues of sorts...we were given opportunities to rescue them from homes where they could no longer be cared for. We got Dani while we were living in Deltona, FL, on the weekend that Danica Patrick had the pole at the Daytona 500...hence her name, Danica, which later got shortened to Dani...but she lives up to her namesake, she is a VERY FAST runner! Gypsie came to live with us after the passing of our other dachshund, Kenzie. We think sometimes Dani thinks her BIG, little sister is a nuisance, but, actually they really do play together pretty well!
