Your Pet's Story or Bio
Winnie was rescued along with her brother Blaze (also a contestant) in August 2017. She still bears the scars on her legs from the fire ant bites she endured before being rescued off the streets. This 60 pound girl thinks she is a lap dog and loves to cuddle. In her time with us she has gone on 5 camping trips, loves to hike, chase chipmunks and birds. She enjoys snowshoeing with us and her older “sister” Allie, campfires, watching Sabres hockey and going for car rides anywhere especially to the bank on Saturday mornings. In the winter she rolls in the snow and in the summer rolls in the stone driveway. We are convinced she rolled in the sand while in Puerto Rico and continues with that habit. When the sun shines you can find her laying in the “sunny spot” in the house, on the porch, or in the grass. She came to us six weeks after losing one of our dogs to cancer. “Search for the ones who are abandoned and forgotten. Give them a second chance and let them take my place. Honor my life by saving another”. That was Mac’s message to us when we lost him that July. We have done that, and are so grateful to M.A.D. for bringing Winnie into our lives. She loves us unconditionally and we love her the same. She is such a happy goofy girl and life wouldn’t be the same without her!
