The Magnolia Chapter of the Humane Society of Louisiana is a volunteer, foster based rescue group formed in June of 2008. Our main program is a low cost spay/neuter program that we implemented in February 2009. Since then we have spayed/neutered more than 5,000 cats and dogs in and around Washington Parish, Louisiana. Our rescue program takes in dogs and cats from high kill rate facilities and from roadsides, trash cans, abandoned houses, fields, alleys and anywhere else a lost, hungry, frightened creature might be found. These homeless ones are placed into our foster program where they learn what it is like to live as part of a family. Our adoption program helps them meet a family match of their own.
We are completely funded by donations and the occasional grant. We pay no salaries or overhead costs so all donations go directly to the care of cats and dogs. All donations are tax deductible as we are a 501(c)3 organization.
