Dog's Name While at the Shelter
Betty

Your Pet's Story or Bio
I first saw Bella (was Betty) when we met up with Melissa that Saturday night. She was so much prettier than her picture; she was a darker black with brown brindling and had and lightening bolt of white on the back of her neck. Thankfully, we brought a harness with us as she was a big girl (weighing in the next day at the Vet at 54 lbs.).
Bella seemed to like us and was really sweet; she was even eager to go with us. It took a little help from my husband to get her up in the back seat but that is normal for bottom heavy dogs.
It did not take long before she was showing us her smile and saying thank you for loving me.
It did take a few months for her to calm down and know she was never leaving. She was clingy with me and mouthy; but we worked through that with a lot of stuffy toys she could destroy, easily digestible bones she could crunch on and her own old quilt she could kneed and suckle until she was calm and drowsy (just like a nursing pup).
Several months later she was ready to go to Daycare on Fridays with Sami and play with, not only Sami, but a lot of other dogs. Even now it is her favorite place and she loves it. I could never say enough about M.A.M.A.S. rescue and the gift they gave me the day I brought Bella home!
