Hazel came to join her furever home through M.A.M.A.S in early August of 2019 as “Cali,” a scrawny, wiry, wild 5-month old puppy. The first two weeks her first-time worn out dog mom thought to herself, “I can’t do this!” But her adoption coordinator convinced her that it was only uphill from there, and boy was he right!! She has since taught her then-single dog mom that she could be adventurous and independent for the first time, as they explored their area, discovering parks, and adventuring many new places together that she had never gone to by herself before. Hazel helped open up a brand new world, giving her a new confidence in herself and her own life, and instigated many new friendships she wouldn’t have otherwise have without Hazel by her side. Now Hazel has a permanent dog dad and a tuxedo cat. Life couldn’t be better.
