Avery (formerly known as Ninja) was adopted from M.A.M.A.S. in August 2018 through Wet Nose Rescue in PA. We were looking at another dog originally but M.A.M.A.S.’s staff highly recommended Avery thanks to his temperament and submissive nature while at the shelter.

His rescue story is that he was left behind with several other dogs when his family moved. This explained a lot about him (i.e. initially very reactive to suitcases). While he worked through it with the help of a trainer, the vacuum cleaner is still Public Enemy #1.

7 years later he is an absolute prince of a dog. He loves to take car rides and attend trivia at our local brewery where the bartender knows his food order: chicken strips with no fries or sauce. He has also attended the Renaissance Faire as a dragon where he was a huge favorite and won Dog of the Day.
