Joey is an extraordinarily kind and healing soul. Ruthie Rish knew i needed him when i first emailed about him, because i had recently lost my human love Dave, was losing my best friend Kelly to lung cancer, and my dog Sami was dying of an aggressive mouth tumor. i looked on Petfinder for someone to help me get through all that and Joey's eyes spoke to me right on the computer screen...i will forever be grateful for that picture.

He is the kindest soul ever and has made a zillion friends. Everyone thinks they are Joey's favorite :-) And that really says something so true about him. He loves everyone and everything, and is just purely wonderful.

He is not much of a swimmer, though every summer we try to find that one magic pool or float that he will feel safe enough to float around in. He seems to really want to go in the water, but he is so hesitant. He absolutely adores laying on the side staring at the water though, with a zen-like look on his face :-) And he lays on the pool cover all winter long :-)

He has an adopted younger brother and sister who idolize him, and a mom (me) who feels such a connection with his heart and soul, that he is like my soulmate. He has helped me to slowly start to heal my broken heart.

i will forever be grateful to Ruthie for not only saving Joey, curing him of heart worm and keeping him safe and sound during those 3+ years, but for knowing that he was exactly who i needed in my life at that time.

Thank you Ruthie--you are an angel and i don't know what i would do without my beloved Joey :-)
