Pet's Story or Bio
A wonderful woman adopted Winnie in October of 2012, which landed her in Vermont via NorthStar Rescue. Winnie's new mama wanted the most 'broken down dog' you had in your shelter. Unfortunately, after about 8 months, Winnie's mom felt it was unfair to keep her as her work situation changed dramatically and she couldn't be home with her anymore. It was a heart wrenching decision for her. Yet, at the same time, our old dog Barley lost his life-long companion. I wasn't looking for another dog for him, but something made me look for Winnie... And hers and Barley's life together - for over a year - was a match made in Heaven!! Winnie was one of the most amazing dogs I've ever met in my entire life, and she was VERY happy here in the year and 9 months she graced all of our lives. She was truly an 'Old Soul', and we miss her terribly. Thanks so much M.A.M.A.S for giving this old girl a place where someone could find her. We're eternally grateful.
