It was this indelible sense of love and connection that we felt towards Paco and the level of gratitude that I felt, almost unspeakable at times, towards those who had saved him and the distress that overcame me when I even entertained what the alternative (to his being saved) could have been that propelled me further in to the world of rescue work. I found myself compelled to enter further and further in to this world driven by an insatiable need to save other animals (namely dogs) the way that Paco had been saved; touched, changed and even “transformed” by him. Our “souls” were indeed fully “awakened” and our lives transformed the day that we met Paco.
