A little about me...Teddy was a rescue. His breeder raised pups without meat or vaccinations. They gave the pups fermented veggies and goat's milk.
The Humane Society was notified (I was told) by a potential buyer and they had to surrender the mother and pups.
In June, '22 we lost our beloved 15 y.o. Labrador Retriever, "Jack" and were really grieving. Our good friends raise puppies for Canine Companions for Independence and knew that puppies were available for adoption at NORCAL Golden Retriever Rescue (fostering from the Humane Society).
It was love at first sight. We adopted Teddy and he has filled the huge hole in our hearts left when Jack passed. It took us 4 months to get his digestive system working right. He was 11 wks. old and 11.5 lbs. (he should have weighed 18 lbs.). He will be 1 year old in June, and we just adore him. He now weighs 70 lbs., in extremely healthy and he's very (very!) smart and hilarious. Teddy talks to us all the time. I work in a store and he's the 'shop puppy', greeting everyone when they come in. People now come in not just to shop, but to see Teddy! :) Our hearts are full...
People say how lucky he is to have us - but no! We are the lucky ones to have been able to adopt Teddy.
