DougA little about me...
Beju was found abandoned by a friend on the streets of Livermore as a puppy about 9 1/2 years ago. He tried to find the owners and took him in, but due to personal reasons was unable to continue caring for him. We were looking for a new companion and after the first meeting we knew he was going to be our newest member of our family! We think he is a Chow/Lab/Shepherd mix and we joking refer to him as our German Chowbrador. Beju loves the ocean, Lake Tahoe, and hiking in Marin and the East Bay. Stinson Beach, Fort Funston and the Big Rock hike in Marin are particular favorites. He gets along great with other dogs, small children and people of all ages. The positive reaction he received while visiting my father at his assisted living facility got me to get Beju certified as a therapy dog. He has participated in "Paws to Read" programs, as well as "therapy sessions" at middle schools, colleges, and senior centers. We've nicknamed him Flow because he always seems so chill no matter where he is. He enjoys playing frisbee on the beach, cold cement floors and protecting our house from squirrels.
Beju has been bravely battling lymphoma since January, Chemotherapy has been stopped as remission did not take place. He was my best friend/wingman/rock during the last few years when I lost my father, mother & uncle.
He brings a smile to everyone who meets him.
From a friend who found him abandoned on the streets of Livermore.
** Update: We are heartbroken to say that Beju passed earlier this week (6/16) as a result of lymphoma. When he was 1st diagnosed in January, I was hoping that we could share my 60th birthday on June 9th together, but I really had my doubts. Our family was able to share one more birthday together and he gave us a few more wonderful days after...
Beju, I hope you are now be Happy, Light & Free!
