Merlin, the Magical Dog

Merlin is a truly magical dog, with a gentle presence that soothes every dog he meets. We welcomed him into our home in 2022 as a foster from Marin Humane. From the start, his calm and kind nature stood out—he was clearly a special boy. As our 16th foster, we planned to keep fostering, but Merlin stole our hearts, and we soon adopted him.

Even after making Merlin a permanent part of our family, we continued fostering other dogs overnight. Merlin was remarkable with every one of them. He’s the dog that makes all other dogs feel at ease, teaching them how to relax with his serene demeanor. One unforgettable foster was Billi, a dog who had lingered at the shelter for far too long. When we took Billi in, we brought both dogs on a weekend adventure to Mendocino—what a trip! Merlin showed Billi how to unwind, encouraging him to romp in the waves and savor the coastal sunsets.

We often bring Merlin back to the shelter to be a comforting companion for dogs in need of a friend. His gentle spirit makes him a natural at calming others. At home, Merlin shares a sweet bond with Miss Kitty, his emotional support kitty, who brings out his tender side.

Merlin’s magic lies in his ability to spread peace and joy to every creature he meets, making the world brighter for dogs and humans alike.
