A little about me...
When we first met him through the rescue group, he was shy and unsure, but there was love in his eyes. He wanted to be near us and stay in the room with us, even though he didn’t yet know how to move through the world with confidence. Walking on a leash was completely new to him. Instead of stepping forward, he would collapse, lie down, and wait to be picked up. A trainer from Marin Humane helped us begin to reach him by showing us a simple game: toss a treat and let him follow it, awakening his natural instinct to run, search, and play. That game became his favorite thing. It is his happy time—the moment when his whole spirit comes alive.
Eighteen months later, he is finally beginning to settle in. Little by little, he is learning that touch can be gentle and safe. He now lets us pet him, and he gets excited for his walks, even though it took time for him to understand them. And, of course, nothing brings out his joy quite like breakfast and dinner. When he gets excited, he shifts from paw to paw as if he is marching in place, and it is almost impossibly cute. Every small sign of comfort feels like a victory.

His story is still unfolding, but every day he shows us what patience, kindness, and safety can do. He may not have had the start he deserved, but he is finally surrounded by people who see him, love him, and celebrate every bit of progress he makes. Watching him grow into himself has been one of the greatest gifts, and we are so grateful that he was brought him into our lives.
