Smokey was basically an outdoor cat living on the campus of my daughter's boarding school. She went to Foxcroft, thus named because there are lots of fox around so I adopted Smokey to bring him home and keep him safe. Though he still wants to go outside, he is content napping in his designated spots in the house and playing with daddy and sis !
