KC was my great "old lady" rescue from MASTER before MASTER was even an official thing. Though she had a distinguished white beard and an old soul, she was likely not more than 8 years old. She came to Jeanne infested with fleas, and still bit at the air around her head catching imaginary fleas for months after she came into our lives. She moved right in to our bed and our hearts from day one, had a great smile and guarded the home from a pillow by the window. KC accepted our pup Lucy as her apprentice, and taught her in the ways of seeking out squirrels, kicking your back feet when you bark, and waving that straight scottie flag of a tail proudly. She left us after a valiant fight with cancer, but we hope is always watching over us.
