Spaz moved to the island of Maui at 12 years old about 6 months after a traumatic back injury that left him almost completely paralyzed. Although the doctor was not sure he would walk again, we made the decision to perform emergency surgery on him, followed by 5 weeks of 24 hour-a-day confinement and 20 hours of physical therapy. Although a very difficult time for him, the outcome is amazing! He is now able to walk and run again! Now at age 15, he loves running on the beach, playing fetch in the park and, most importantly, DINNER! Spaz is truly a miracle dog!
