Makana showed up on my patio the night of my birthday. I am allergic to cats but I told my boyfriend if he came back the next three nights we would take him in and he did. We took him to the Humane Society to see if he was chipped or belonged to anyone we were told he was about 2 to 3 months old. After waiting the required 30 days we were able to call him ours. I felt he was a birthday gift from heaven which is why we called him Makana which means gift in Hawaiian. He has a funny quirky personality and makes us laugh every day. He protects us at night hunting for critters while we sleep. He sleeps most of the day and is full of energy at night playing hide and seek with us and chasing us around the house, he loves to play fetch with his toys. There is no need for an alarm clock in our house as he wakes me up every morning at 5 o’clock wanting some attention. I’m not sure who has luckier us finding him or him finding us but he is definitely one special little kitty.
