Pet's QuirksMy dog has a full-time job as the neighborhood mailman alarm—rain or shine, he’s on duty. He also trains like a pro at Camp K Nine, but don’t let that fool you—he still thinks “sit” is negotiable if there’s a squirrel nearby. He absolutely adores people and is convinced he’s a 5-pound lap dog (spoiler: he’s not). Personal space? He’s also never heard of it.
Pet's StoryYukon is a white Pit Bull/American Bulldog with a heart as big as his goofy grin. He was found abandoned, having survived on the streets for nearly two years. When I rescued him at age two, he came bursting through the door with a whirlwind of energy and a huge desire to be loved. He didn’t know how to live in a house—every rug was a racetrack, every couch a trampoline. He didn’t need time to warm up—he was ready to be someone’s dog, he just hadn’t learned the rules yet.
With patience, training, and lots of belly rubs, Yukon transformed from a wild child into the sweetest, most loyal companion. He’s now a proud graduate of Camp K Nine, where he channels all that energy into being a star student (when he’s not distracted by squirrels). He still keeps a close eye on the mailman and lets us know the moment any suspicious envelopes arrive.
Yukon adores people and is convinced that laps are made for him—despite his 70-pound frame. One of his quirkiest habits? When he’s excited, he hops like a bunny, all four paws springing off the ground. It’s impossible not to laugh when he does it.
He’s joyful, affectionate, and a little ridiculous—in the best way. Yukon didn’t just find a home—he found his forever family, and we couldn’t imagine life without him.
