Zara was found running in traffic on Lamar Ave in February 2011 by her foster family. 5 months later, my family saw her at an adoption event and decided that she had to come home with us. Little did we know that Zara had some very serious trust issues with men and had most certainly been abused in her previous life, but we also knew that if we worked hard enough, we could teach Zara to trust humans again. It took some time and a lot of work, but 3 years later Zara is a sweeter, happier, and funnier than I could have ever imagined. I count the minutes until I can get home to be with her and her other dog sisters.
