Peaches chose me on February 3, 2016. It was the day after my 16th birthday, and my mom had promised me a dog. I had been to the shelter a few times before and knew that a dog was in there just waiting for me to take them home. She was in an igloo, cowering and shaking with her head almost touching the floor. There were two big dogs in the kennel with her and they were bouncing off the door in excitement. She quivered harder when I talked to her, her tail wagging ever so slightly. She was so beautiful, so cute, so young. We went on our first walk and she was absolutely etastic, our other dog LOVED her. I knew she was for me. We've had some difficulty, she was quite obviously abused. She is terrified of men, and bites in defense. The left tip of her tongue had been sliced off, and she drinks funny. She has learned to be more trusting, less fearful, and how to be a happier dog. She loves to play stick, go on walks, and bounce on the trampoline. I love her very much, and I think she loves me too.
