Your Pet's Story or Bio
During our family camping trip to Russian Gulch state park last summer we headed into Mendocino for a few stops to our fave places. Our daughter came across a volunteer, Deryl, from the Mendocino Coast Humane Society walking a spry, boxer-mix, named "Brook" and made an instant connection. They proceeded to find me in the bookstore and of course I joined the pack to track down my husband in a nearby coffee shop. Needless to say, we couldn't resist Brook's sweet face and friendly disposition. We all wholeheartedly agreed to adopt her into our family. We had to strategically make room in our car (full of camping gear) for the trek back home to Sacramento. She slept comfortably on our daughters lap the whole way (A true lap dog at heart). We joke, "Who rescued who?!" because Brook is the one that gives us daily love and lots of shared laughter. We are the lucky ones!
