We adopted Tiegan and Miles from Basenji Rescue and Transport, Inc. Tiegan, our dainty Princess of Sunshine and Magic and her trusty sidekick Miles, aka Sir Chewsalot, bring us a lot of joy and keep us on our toes. Basenjis are not for everyone. They’ve been described as a combination of cat, gazelle, and three-year-old leprechaun. They are stubborn, active, very intelligent sighthounds with strong prey drives who cannot be off-leash unless in a secure fenced area. We are the fifth (and final) home for little dogs who were given up multiple times because people did not do their homework before adopting them. We think they are treasures, and we’re very grateful to have them in our lives.
