Your Pet's Story or Bio
Hazel was found wandering around Southern Illinois in summer of 2022 by Animal Control. She was taken in by the Animal Rescue Foundation who believed, based on her trauma, that she was used for breeding in a puppy mill. I adopted Hazel in November 2022 and despite the ups and downs of working through her anxiety and trauma, the past 2.5 years with Hazel have brought me immense joy and comfort. Hazel loves to swim at the Dunes, go for a car ride to get a pup cup, and then cuddle up at night. I was surprised to learn Hazel LOVES to foster cats. She is a great foster mama to all the cats who need a snuggle buddy, and together we have fostered over 30 cats for MHS. With love and patience, Hazel has become a gentle, kind dog. I love doing life with my Hazelnut!
