Pet's Story or Bio
Bode (formerly known as Alamo and Koa) was found as a stray in Alamogordo NM. He was at death's door at a high kill shelter when he got his freedom ride to CO and to MHWR. Weighing in at over 110 lbs at intake, Bode was in desperate need of TLC, lots of exercise and the stability of forever home. I adopted him in March 2010 and from that point on - in true weim fashion, he became my shadow. My velcro dog. We went on so many wonderful adventures around the state and across the country. Road trips, countless hikes, and co pilot on mountain biking trips. He charmed his way into several hotels that were not 'large dog' friendly. Ha! A true ambassador for Rescue dogs. Sadly, time caught up to him and I helped him pass peacefully at home in April 2017.
He was the best dog anyone could ask for - sweet, charming, quirky, smart and insanely loyal. I am forever grateful that I got to be his Mom.
