Pet's Story or Bio
Aston Martin Thomas - October 8, 2009 - May 21, 2020

“Everyone is taught that angels have wings – the lucky ones of us find that they have 4 paws”

For the past 10 years I have been looking at life through nose prints on the glass. The windows of my car or the glass of our home, Aston gave me a different view of the world.

Aston rescued me on December 5, 2009 and I fell in love with those steely blue eyes and adoring playful attitude. He was known by many names, Donkey, Nubs, Bear, Monkey and sometimes I sure he thought his name was “stop it”. He was always by my side, through the good times and the tough ones, his head on my lap or the wag of the nub was enough to make everything better.

We logged 10,000+ miles together, running, hiking and for the last few years just taking long walks, taking in the smells as we both got older. We summited 15 14,000 ft peaks, swam in the ocean, rivers and ponds, played ball, camped, slept, worked, napped, ate, everything we did, we did it together, he was my shadow.

Stealer of camping chairs and hearts, Aston peed on all parts of TX and CO where he lived and the other 13 states he visited. He made 100s of friends in his short time on this earth with assorted animals, canines and humans alike. He was sweet and gentle around others, visiting nursing homes and I always loved to watch his smile when he made others happy.

I was lucky to have Aston’s love, his affection and the lessons he taught me about life. He taught me patience, and that if you expect great things from people, they will pleasantly surprise you and most of all he taught me that there is such a thing as unconditional love and devotion. He taught me to believe that there is good in everyone as long as you approach them with the wag of a tail and a smile on your face.

I do believe Aston had a great life and because of him, I’ve had a better life. Looking at life through his nose prints has shown me life more clearly. He reminded me that even though life is not perfect, life is a little more perfect because of the nose prints on our windows. He will always be a part of me as I have a better understanding of love and trust because of him. He took a huge chunk of my heart with him but made all our hearts bigger with his love and nub wags. My view of life is a little clearer with his nose prints on my glass.

Rest in peace my sweet prince and may you run pain free now in green pastures with a ball that never stops being thrown! Until we meet again, you will always be in my heart and I long for the day we meet again.

Love always and furever

Please note: I will match all donations up to $1,000 to help ensure Aston is remembered for one more year
