Waffles, formerly Duke, is an MHS Detroit alumn that was adopted into his furever home on May 3rd, 2018. He was surrendered to MHS as a 4 month old puppy tangled tightly in a cord and with an embedded collar around his neck due to severe neglect. The trauma he endured lead to the loss of one of his legs, but that hasn't slowed him down a bit! After learning how to walk and run again, Waffles made a full recovery and now leaves his 4-legged friends in the dust! At 1.5 years old now he has defied all odds and not only mastered jumping up and down from picnic tables, beds, and chairs, he has also mastered being the ultimate momma's boy.

Fun fact about your pet (optional)
Waffles was fostered with cats during his post-surgery recovery and it's suspected he thinks he's a cat by the way he tries to sit on the windowsill!
