Your Pet's Story or Bio
Harper is deaf and was having trouble finding a home until we saw her on MHS's "Overlooked Pets" page when making a donation in memory of our old, deceased dog. We instantly fell in love with her and knew she could fit right in with us. We adopted Harper from the Detroit MHS July 2015. She was very timid when first brought home- 4 hours to get her through the door! She was easily frightened especially of window blinds or the television. It took several months with a lot of love, patience, and sign language that she adjusted to her new, forever home. Harper now loves spending evenings curled up, cuddling on the couch between us or going on walks. She’s still working on the concept of fetch, but we're working on it! Overall we are just glad to see she is happy and loved and provides us the same.
