Astrid is a preemie miracle who joined our family in 2020, born at 23-weeks weighing 1 lb. 4 oz. She spent her first 6-weeks battling a terrible infection that threatened her life daily. However, she overcame it and many other obstacles that were part of her 148 day stay in the NICU. With the initial help of Dr. D and Miracle Babies, our journey through parenting a NICU baby was met with support and understanding. Since her discharge home, Astrid has been an inspiration to her family, her doctors, and her various therapists; proving that the tiniest beings can be the strongest fighters defying the odds set against them.
