What’s your pet’s story?
The Butter was a rescue dog from California. We adopted him when he was 4. He loved chasing tennis balls, jumping high to catch them, swimming in the Clark Fork River, and especially splashing through and rolling in puddles. At age 11, Butter became blind due to Progressive Retinal Atrophy, a genetic disease. But blindness didn't stop Butter. He continued to chase tennis balls, listening for the sound of it dropping on the grass, especially at Fort Missoula. Then he used his nose to hunt it down, scouring the field until his nose caught the scent. We'd jiggle little Christmas bells when he found the ball so that he could run back to us, following the sound. Butter loved broccoli, green beans and carrots as treats, and of course, belly rubs. He slipped away one night 4 years ago at age 14. Love him forever.
