Hope and Healing is at the Heart of What we Do
We named her Cardinal because her fur was stained pinkish-red. Her right eye is cloudy. Her jaw was likely broken at some point and she has
some fractured teeth. Her hips are misaligned due to some type of trauma. She's not even a year old, and she's been through so much.
Yet her tail never stops wagging and she's an absolute love to everyone she meets!
As we await scheduling of further x-rays with an orthopedic vet, she is being fostered (and completely spoiled) by a staff member.
While she's having so much fun on her adventures, she's also getting gentle physical therapy and gaining strength in her back legs.
Now she can go up and down stairs like a pro! We don't yet know the extent of surgery she will need, but we do know that this
sweet girl will receive the best of care and eventually be placed in a very special home.
As an organization funded by donations, it is only through the generous support of caring donors like you that
we are able to provide care and healing for beautiful pets like Cardinal.

Here are some of our 2020 accomplishments:
- In 2020 we placed 1,795 pets in loving homes.
- We distributed over 243,000 pet meals through our Furry Friends Pet Food Pantry. Demand for this service continues to be high.
- We provided 2,560 spay and neuter surgeries for the public through our low-cost clinic.
- Our Behavior and Enrichment Helpline connected dozens of families with the expertise of our staff with the goal of keeping pets in their homes where they are loved.
