Story behind the cap idea/Bio
The cap is based upon one of my favorite bands Pierce the Veil. I began listening to them heavily during my sophomore year of highschool and ever since then I’ve become enthralled by their beautiful lyricism and instrumentalist. The band is one of the greater emo band of the late 2000’s to early 2010’s with their refined yet piercing vocals to often grandeur instrumental tracks paving the way for many more bands to come. There songs on the surface may seem like screaming and loud songs, but it’s the poems and truly captivating lyrics that make them what they are. The band has personally impacted me to be more thoughtful in my life with the many topics that they speak about such as being there for others and making sure to see the signs of what could possibly be harmful behavior. I recall seeing them my senior year(this year) at Madison Square Garden, thanks to a friend helping pay for my ticket and it was one of the greatest concerts I ever experienced. Pierce the veil also being a Latino fronted band has resonated with me in my own musical career as we both stem from scenes without too much Latino representation so seeing them succeed and be great gives me hope and inspiration that I too one day can aspire to be that great. Pierce the Veil has just changed my own understanding of what it means to truly live and has pushed me to become better and so it was no hard decision to honor them through my graduation cap.
