Story behind the cap idea/BioWhen I was 9 years old I was diagnosed with cancer and it led me to believe my life was over. I defied those odds by graduating high school and attending William Paterson University where I will be majoring in Journalism and minoring in Public Relations. This cap was a message made to inspire those who have been affected through cancer both mentally and physically. I have struggled deeply with being a survivor and I want others to know that you are not alone. We are not alone. For everyone else, it is a message to be spoken about as it may be scarce to find childhood cancer survivors because many don’t speak out. Just how pink is the color for breast cancer awareness. Gold is the childhood cancer awareness ribbon color. I will make the #Fight Cancer a movement as I grow up through my journey of becoming a journalist and let a message be spoken out for those who feel left out. I have grown up with anxiety and post trauma with many people in my life being unaware and this movement is to inspire and ignite a change.
