“With God’s blessing and my mother’s sacrifices, I made it!”

As I celebrate this momentous milestone, I acknowledge that this achievement is not mine alone. I credit much of my success to my mother and to God. I am fortunate to have such an amazing support system, and I remain conscious of the fact that I would not be the person I am today without my mother’s hard work and sacrifices. In bravely leaving her home country and family in search of a better life, my mother gave me the opportunity to pursue an education that was part of her American Dream. I am grateful for the way she filled our home with books, music, great food, and religious faith. Throughout uncertain times, my beliefs have given me strength, and His presence has given me peace. It was a privilege to honor them both as I crossed the stage and to share my story with you all.
