Pet's Story or Bio
Pepper came to me during the pandemic in April, 2020. Her previous owner (a Homeward Bound volunteer who foster-failed with her) died suddenly and no one in her family could take on another pet. I was out working in the backyard when my neighbors informed me of her situation, so I went to meet her the next day, and in less than a minute, she appeared from under the bed where she had been hiding, took treats right from my hand, and stepped right into the carrier like she was boarding a plane (1st class, naturally), and so began our journey. She has been a docile, loving, trusting dreamgirl ever since.

My boys, Homer (2005-2021) and Dozer (2008-), took a minute to warm up to her, but now Dozer's favorite thing to do is be wherever she is, especially when it means they sit together, side by side in the porch window, like a cute little old couple, watching the backyard wildlife go by.

Although her name might imply that she's a spicy little meatball, it's really a reference to her unique coloring. She may look 'fierce' in this picture, but personality wise, she truly couldn't be any sweeter. I should have named her Honey!
