Pet's Story or Bio
We rescued Snoopy as a puppy in Houston n 2010 from a no-kill shelter. She was on the streets and picked up by a woman who wanted to save her but couldn’t keep her. She was the perfect addition to our fam of another dog and cat. She took over the household right away with her bossy, no-nonsense Schnauzer/Jack Russell personality. Her street cred gave her great survival skills that she thought she needed as a pet so we just went with it. We sometimes call her the “death of fun” or “fun police” as when others start having a good time, she mis-interprets it as trouble and it makes her anxious so she lets everyone know when it’s too much. They all know she’s the queen.
We moved from Texas to Palm Springs, California in 2013 and she adapted well. She does not like being in the water but has to be with us when we’re in the pool or her anxiety is through the roof. To combat this we bought some small boats so she can float around with us and stay dry. Her favorite is the race car you see here. When we get in we just pull it to the edge and she walks in, like a boss!!
In April of this year she was diagnosed with diabetes which has been a big change in our routine, but she’s been a trouper. In July she developed cataracts and is now 90% blind, another big challenge. She’s still trying to get her bearings but determined to live a semi-normal life. She still puts her two brothers in check, even when she’s not sure exactly where they are.
Snoopy is our sweet, smart, bossy, sometimes grumpy baby girl and brings so much joy to our lives!
