The true origins of Copper are unknown, but local legend has it Walt Disney’s secret breeding program for cute dogs was started here in East TN. These dogs were used as live models for such films as The Fox and the Hound, Lady and the Tramp and Lilo and Stich. One night Dreamworks snuck in and stole the cutest of all dogs. As they fled E TN, their truck hit a bump in the HWY 27 construction zone and Copper tumbled out the back of the truck! Just as the Disney breeding program had trained him to do-he landed safely and rolled into a cute, little pose! This began his epic journey to our home. He doggie paddled across the mighty TN River! He nosed his way through the swirling smells of the Northshore! He trotted through the Cherokee Blvd tunnel. On the other side he saw Signal Mountain and KNEW that would be a good place to look for a home. After climbing the steep side of SM he found many friendly families and most of them had dogs of their own. There was one family he found that had lots of boys but no dogs. They had lots of love ready for a new dog and he knew he had found his Furever Home just in time for the holidays!
