Pet's Story
Tinker and his brother Gadget were adopted in February 2020 to be companions for my other rat, Ollie, who had recently lost his two brothers. They instantly bonded and became the best cuddle buddies anyone could have ever ask for. Tinker is shy but curious and loves to explore. He is incredibly intelligent and is able to recognize different people’s voices. He is even able to distinguish the sound of the treat jars and bags from other household sounds. Tinker and Gadget love to spend their days play wrestling, munching on treats and sleeping in their favorite hammocks or boxes. On top of being a companion for Ollie and Gadget, Tinker is sensitive to my emotions and will always cuddle and begin to give me nonstop kisses when I am feeling down. We often do holiday photoshoots, something that I had started years ago with my first rat. Through these pictures, Tinker is able to showcase rats in an untraditional way that helps educate people about the common myths and stereotypes surrounding rats. Overall, he is a big love bug and always enjoys the simple things in life such as his favorite cardboard tissue box.
