Pet's Story
Mayo was adopted by my family and I in November 2020. He had been a stray tomcat living on the streets until a kind lady brought him to a shelter. He looked like he had lived a tough life and looked a little rough around the edges- scarring and bite marks on his ears, scratched up foot pads, big puffed out tomcat cheeks, and was FIV+. The look in his eyes told me he just needed some love. The second he got out of his carrier at my house he strutted around like he owned the place and hopped up on my bed like he had lived there for years. He has slept with me almost every night since. He has become a much loved and treasured part of the family who loves morning snuggles, and will meow and look around the house for me until he can figure out where I am (can’t leave the bathroom door even a little ajar or else he busts in to say hello). He has a very unique raspy meow that sounds like he used to smoke cigarettes. His favorite food is chicken, his favorite activity is sleeping, and his favorite sleeping spot is right in between my boyfriend and I (it’s pretty much his bed now, we just get to sleep on the edges). He loves all humans he meets and melts away when you scratch his chest or head. He’s a cool dude.
