Theo(5 yrs) and Aspen (11 years) were both rescued from the Ft Worth shelter and adopted from MSRH. Theo in 2013 and Aspen in 2017. Theo is quite a little amusing fellow with lots of schnauzer bravado when visitors arrive. All he really wants though is a pet and hugs from everyone he meets. He has been the best "big brother" for Aspen. He readily accepted her when she arrived as a special needs foster last year. As she could not see, he immediately became her guide. Helping her find her way to food and water and helping on her walks so that she doesn't bump into obstacles. She follows along happily, smiling and wagging her tail. Aspen is a vocal girl and loves to have conversations with me and my mom every morning and after each walk. Sometimes I swear she says "I love you too". Initially she was quite scared and clearly had been through some traumatic experience. However now Aspen is a very happy girl who grows more confident everyday. And even though she can't see, she knows how to get on the couch for a nap and a snuggle. She also knows how to look directly at a camera. Go figure! I really only planned to foster her to get her healthy, but as many know, a schnauzer can worm their way into your heart, so this became her forever home along with brother Theo, my mom and I in January. Thanks to MSRH for giving these babies from Fort Worth a second chance for a good life
