I rescued Boomer on Christmas Eve and I could see in his eyes he was so grateful it brought tears to my eyes. We had an immediate bond and connection. He was the best Christmas present ever. I was at a very bad period in my life and when I got Boomer he made sure I knew he was my responsibilty now. Being single, I had lived in a condo with all concrete around me. Not many fun places to walk a dog. Within a month I moved into a house with a huge backyard and lots of trees and lots of squirrels. He was in doggie heaven. Boomer has gotten older and has just been diagnosed with Diabetes which has been an adjustment for us both but when I adopted Boomer I made a promise to him that I would do anything at anytime to make his life happy and comfortable. He saved me all those years ago and it's my turn to save him. I love my boy more than anything else in my life and this picture was taken as I smiled at him and he smiled back. I knew he was a happy dog and I was grateful to have him and thank God every day for bringing him into my life.
