Monty was in rescue for 4 months and had to be boarded at Dogtopia in Montrose, because MSRH was overflowing with dogs. He had rather long hair, but Mama could see the Schnauzer underneath.
About 25 years before this adoption Mama lived just 2 blocks from the rescue while attending the Art Institute. So those fond memories dictated that his new name would be Montrose, or Monty for everyday use.
Monty knew I was his Mama the second he saw me, as he jumped right into my lap and began giving me kisses. We have been inseparable ever since that moment. He often goes to work with me and loves his visits to Tomlinson's and Petco. He loves to run in the yard and chase squirrels. He has participated in several Barnhunt events and always gets his man/rat in record time!
He is a sweet loving companion, but also very protective of his Mama. He often barks at his Daddy when he sneaks up behind Mama. Monty will stand up and do a perfect pirouette for a home made dog cookie. Monty also loves to "sing" when the firetruck drives by and his pitch perfectly matches the siren. Monty is the perfect dog for me and he definitely saved us from a life of boredom and no snuggles!
