Pet's Story or BioCharles Wadsworth Mitten V (aka: Charlie) came to my house during a yard sale on a Sunday morning. However, before going to bed that evening, I checked outside to see if he was still around. Gone, no where to be found. That evening it rained all night…. The following morning, my neighbor knocked at the door. In his hands he held a soaking wet cat. He said “here, you take him, I know you like cats. He keeps jumping in my wife’s car and she is allergic.” So, Charlie became mine…
I adopted Kobe from Mary S. Roberts—he was one in a litter of kittens named after the Lakers. However, I had gone to the shelter that day to meet a dog; but, the dog and I didn’t click. So, I took a stroll though the chattery. About halfway down the row of cages there was a cat who reached out with his paws, and his voice, as if to say “pick me, pick me…”. I asked the attendant who was this bold cat? She responded “this is Kobe, he was adopted yesterday, but the woman who adopted him, brought him back today. Some story about how his toenails got caught in the carpeting.” Well, I wasn’t looking for cat that day, so I told Kobe “if the Lakers win the play offs this year, I’ll come back and get you.” One month later, the Lakers won the play offs, so I went back and adopted Kobe. End of story.
