Pet's Story or Bio
Benny is a rescue found roaming in Sierra Madre for approximately two weeks before he gave up and let himself be caught by a wonderful rescue. He became my foster while he recovered from an infected incision (neutering). I was sure he was not going to survive so I stayed with him 24/7 for a week.
He made it through!
Benny was a little guy full of fear, he wouldn't even eat out of a bowl. He had to be fed on a paper plate on the floor and a clear bowl for water. He was terrified of any black items (clothing, trash bags etc) and more to the point of having explosive diarrhea while he hid from whatever was scaring him at the moment.
We worked through his fears and then started his training so he could be up for adoption fully trained.
He was extremely smart and was potty trained in two days and learned his name and basic commands within a week after his recovery. He became the most amazing little guy and after watching him interact with my family's children, dogs, cats, chickens etc .
I knew he would be a perfect fit for us. Hence he became my first FOSTER FAILURE! He has overcome so much to become the sweetest, smartest, full of energy little guy. He hikes, does 5K's with me, he swims, climbs trees (yes climbs trees!) he is just perfect! His nickname ? SUPER DOG ! (Hence the costume)
