One Saturday afternoon during adoptions at the shelter, someone called to say they had a dead kitten in their pool shed. Of course, we rushed right over only to find a curled up one and a half week old kitten alive and all by himself. Naturally, we knew there must be more, and after an hour or so, we found four more huddled in a hole under a tree. Since the mother was nowhere to be found, we took them home to foster - or so we thought. Almost a year later, we still have two of the little boys, one of whom is Kipper, the little baby all curled up in the shed. Looks like it was a foster failure on our part!
