Share your Love Story
We met more than 3 years ago shortly after we moved to San Diego (he moved from Chicago and I moved here from Atlanta). We were both working as system engineers for Qualcomm- our offices were in the same building and on the same floor. What initially started with awkward smiles and greetings in the hallways and break room grew into a friendship as we hung out over team lunches and happy hours. Being co-workers, we were both stringent believers in the 'no-dating-at-work' commandment. :) However the sparks were undeniable and before we knew it, our bond was much stronger, deeper and of the 'forever' variety. The connection we shared was much beyond the realms of what we thought was just a friendship. After a lot of thinking, contemplating on his part and mine over the next few months- he asked me out. From the rational, engineer side of our brains we came up with 'a pro and cons of dating each other' list. But none of that really mattered but in our hearts we had already made a decision to take that leap. Bye bye, logic! :) And now we know that was probably the wisest decision we ever made. We were very similar in many ways and could not more contrasting in others- but all those things only make our relationship vibrant. We bonded over all things San Diego- our shared love for food, a penchant for locally brewed beer, travel, rewarding hikes in Mt. Woodson all year around, snorkeling with the leopard sharks in La Jolla Shores, strolling through Hillcrest, Little Italy, Cedros Avenue, and so much more. After dating for over an year and a half we got engaged last year and married shortly after. As a just married couple, we are still adjusting to the domestication that holy matrimony came with. Currently discovering new passions like gardening, woodwork, and cooking- all while enjoying life and each other thoroughly.
