Your Pet's Rescue Story
Two years ago, my fiancé received word we would be moving to Orlando for a job relocation. I fought him tooth and nail as I was a New York City girl and did not have any family or friends in Florida. We slowly settled in and started making friends but something was missing. It still didn’t feel like home. I started researching pet rescues in the Orlando area and came across Poodle & Pooch Rescue, a non-profit organization that saves dogs in need of help. At this moment, I thought if I were to create my own family, maybe Florida would feel like home. I scrolled through their list of adoptable dogs and came across, Olivia. She was a black, Catahoula blend puppy that was found under a truck with her two other siblings. She had been living with foster parents and I was dying to meet her.

Upon meeting Olivia, it was love at first sight for all of us! The amount of unconditional love we give to Olivia is certainly reciprocated back to us. Olivia is now in her third set of puppy training classes at East Orlando Animal Hospital, a recommendation made by Poodle & Pooch Rescue. She loves to play with other dogs at day care and learn commands at home. Her favorite command is to “play dead!” She truly is the best addition to our family wants to please us any way she can. We are grateful for Poodle & Pooch Rescue and the connections we have made through this process. Most of all, we can finally say that with the addition of Olivia, Florida feels like home.
