Your Pet's Rescue Story
Within the same week I proposed to my wife, we had to put our previous dog to sleep due to kidney failure. We went from Heaven to Hell quickly with such an emotional drain. After our wedding, and honeymoon, enough time had passed that my wife and I decided it was time to look at rescuing another dog; little did we know he would rescue us.

We searched for months, visited some households, filled out all background information with no avail. One evening, after a long day of work, my wife shows me the photos and details of "Angel." He came from an abusive home where the young children roughhoused to the point they broke his leg; the previous owner finally decided to get rid of him because of such behavior. My wife asked my opinion and for consideration of this sweet little guy. The very next morning we met Angel at a rescue event and my wife held him in her arms. His sorrows melted instantaneously as he fell into a deep sleep; it was love at first site. We brought Angel home and decided to rename him (considering my father-in-law's name is already Angel and we didn't want to confuse either of them when they get in trouble). After minimal debate, we decided to rename him after one of our favorite wineries, Honig; which synonymously means "honey" in German.

Honig has become my very best friend. At the end of a long and draining day, I always look forward to coming home. He greets me at the front door, whimpering and attempting to jump into my arms as I try to untie my shoes. We chase each other around the house for hours, watch movies and study engineering together, and play the worst game of fetch ever; I am the one that throws and gets whatever I throw as he watches from the sideline (we're working on this arrangement). In the end, as stated, he rescued my wife and I and brought such happiness and joy into our lives. He loves everyone and is a true blessing to be a part of our family. We are forever grateful for God bringing him to us.
