Your Pet's Rescue Story
We adopted Brewster from Houndhaven in 2015. We were looking for a dog because our Golden was 16 years old and we needed a pal for our other dog Bandit if Howdie passed. We saw him at Petsmart and set up a visit. He was 1-2 years old with lots of energy, beautiful brown eyes, and a brindle coat. As we came to find out he had lots of issues! He was on medications for anxiety, he drooled, he chewed through 3 crates and we finally had to get a steel crate from the rescue. He even had a dog psychiatrist from UF to come see him. But after many struggles & issues, he is crate free & drug free. He still doesn't like storms and occasionally shreds trash or eats treats left on the counter, but Brewster has his fur ever home and our fur ever love. His days of wandering around and being picked up by animal control are over. Only toys, belly rubs, & love for the rest of his life.
